Job Detail:
Work takes place in a multi-disciplinary, professional campus design Office at MSU’s Infrastructure Planning and Facilities building (Chestnut and Trowbridge Road). The aid will work as an assistant to the Civil engineering staff. Campus projects large and small, focusing on Road, Steam, Water and Building projects. Summer work scope includes work on Spartan Stadium South Endzone addition. Job tasks include: - AutoCAD drafting and construction document preparation. AutoCAD experience is desired, although in-office training is avaialble - Performing engineering calculations and analysis - Site inventory including site photography, field notes and field measurements - General assistance with printing, copying, scanning and filing. - Professional communication (phone and e-mail) with campus customers & in-house designers Desired schedule: -32-40 hours/week during the summer of 2017 -Preferred starting date would occur prior to end of spring semester to allow for some training. This would involve approximately 12-15 hours/week during school semester Applicant note: Open to any of the College of Engineering majors Freshmen/Sophomore/Junior/Senior class level are all acceptable Must have a valid driver’s license to operate University vehicles Contact: Please fill out application on MSU Handshake.
