About this Job Work takes place in a multi-disciplinary, professional campus design and construction office at MSU’s Infrastructure Planning and Facilities building (Chestnut and Trowbridge Road). The aid will work as an assistant to the Capital Project Management staff. Campus capital projects include new building construction, renovations to existing facilities, and various other upgrades/repairs to the campus infrastructure.   Job tasks include: -       Construction Document Preparation and Review -       Project Correspondence with Campus Customers, In-house Staff, and Contracting Staff -       Field Inspection and Site Management -       Project related clerical duties Desired skills: -       Knowledge of and proficiency with common computer applications. -       Familiarity with project scheduling applications -       Familiarity with construction cost estimating -       Professional communication skills (phone and e-mail)   Desired schedule: -Preferred starting date would occur prior to end of fall semester, 2017 to allow for some training. This would involve approximately 10-29 hours/week during school semester -32-40 hours/week during the summer of 2018 Applicant note: Those attending the College of Engineering or the School of Planning, Design and Construction are preferred, although any student with the desired skills would be considered Freshmen/Sophomore/Junior class level are all acceptable Must have a valid driver’s license to operate University vehicles Contact: Please fill out application on MSU Handshake.
