Olin Health Center - renovations for student health and wellness - phase one

Project background

  • During 2016, an action committee (comprised of leadership and staff from Student Health Services, Psychiatry Services, Counseling Center and members of faculty) was charged with developing a strategy to integrate the university's counseling and psychiatric services for students.
  • The committee recommended establishment of a new multi-disciplinary, inter-professional model of care and services for students, that not only integrates the MSU Counseling Center and Olin Psychiatry Clinic into the new Counseling and Psychiatry Services unit (CAPS), but that will also co-locate that new unit with the Sexual Assault Program and Student Health Services, including primary care and health promotion.
  • The physical co-location is necessary to provide an appropriate continuum of care for students.

Project goals

  • Provide a shared and expanded space for the newly formed Counseling and Psychiatry Services unit (CAPS).
  • Co-location necessary to support the provision of an appropriate continuum of care for students.
