Wells Hall – replace induction units in building sections C and D

Project background

  • Originally constructed in 1967, these units have exceeded their useful life and have become impossible to maintain.

Project scope

  • Replacement of aging induction heating/cooling units throughout Wells Hall.

Impacts:

  • Each faculty office within “C” wing will need to be occupied for construction for a period of two to five days (actual time TBD), emphasizing the importance of coordination with the departments and schedule compliance by the contractor.

Budget

  • $2,500,000 which includes a $250,000 contingency.
  • The project will be funded by the general fund - capital renewal.

Timeline

  • Construction start: May 8
  • Project completion: December 2017
