Clinical Center building in summer with green grass

Clinical Center – Replace Fire Alarm System

Project phase: Archived

The existing fire and smoke alarm system in the Clinical Center were installed during the original construction in 1976 and was past its expected useful life. False alarms in the building were increasing and created operational challenges.

Project details:

  • Installed new fire alarm and smoke detection system for the Clinical Center, which includes the A, B, and C wings.
  • The new system is in compliance with new fire alarm codes.
  • The new system provides better detection and has improved maintenance features.

The Clinical Center is located on Service Road in the south academic district.

Impacts due to this project were minimal due to construction personnel working outside of normal business hours.

Start of construction: July 2012

End of construction: December 2014
