Project background

  • The original roof was installed in 1981
  • Roof is beginning to fail and causing potential structural and other cosmetic building damage
  • Infrared study showed significant moisture within existing roof insulation barrier

Project scope

  • Removal of existing conventional roof systems and installation of new IRMA-style inverted roof


  • Smells inside building – alleviated by installation of temporary charcoal filters in building fresh air intake
  • Potential sidewalk closure for roofing setup areas


  • Construction start: May 2018
  • Construction completed: August 2018


  • $1,750,000
  • Funding will come from the general fund - capital renewal
