Kellogg Center - Replace Absorption Chilled Water System

The existing steam-absorption chiller serving the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center had reached the end of its useful life. In order to maintain hotel, conference and academic operations this chiller was replaced.

Project accomplishments: 

  • Removed the existing steam-absorption chiller and replaced it with a modular electric chiller in the existing mechanical room.
  • Removed both 700-ton steam-absorption plants that were in place, and replaced them with one 680-ton modular chiller.


Start of construction: November 2014

End of construction: April 2015
