Committees within IPF

Infrastructure Planning and Facilities has many committees including the Diversity and Inclusion Committee as well as several subcommittees that focus on everything from customer experiences, IT strategy, organizational performance and workforce engagement.
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is analyzing data from several sources to include the internal and external review, workforce engagement survey results, metrics and an internal environmental scan. Currently, the committee is developing a strategic framework for IPF. The committee is also directing their efforts to focus on definitions for diversity and inclusion, a mapped best practice process for ensuring diverse hiring committees, recruitment and outreach onboarding integration and implicit bias training among other initiatives.
“Committees add a lot of value in IPF,” said Jennifer McManus, Human Resources director. “They are a cross-functional engaged set of people with diverse perspectives who have a common goal to support the strategy of IPF.”
McManus recently arranged for Jessica Garcia from MSU’s Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives to conduct a training for IPF supervisors. “We saw this kind of training as an opportunity,” she said. “Training supervisors in how to recognize hidden biases and gain a better understanding of diversity and inclusion practices aligns with our goals for IPF.”
IPF subcommittees include customer, IT strategy, organizational performance (KPIs) and workforce engagement. These subcommittees are organized under the strategy team, which focuses on the strategic direction of IPF in certain key areas that align with the mission, vision and values of IPF.
- The customer subcommittee creates strategic direction in regards to customer interaction
- IT strategy creates an ICT Strategy plan that addresses the organization of IPF’s funding, planning process, governance, deployment and utilization of IT resources
- The organization performance subcommittee reviews existing internal and external programs to provide recommendations for standard operating best practices
- The workforce subcommittee focuses on the life cycle touch points of the employee experiences such as recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, performance management, social engagement and succession planning in order to foster and support a workforce that is engaged and achieving high performance for their own success as well as IPF’s.
IPF committees and subcommittees work together to achieve the IPF mission to deliver services and facilities that help Spartans change the world.
