Service upgrade moves Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF) towards the future

Providing top-notch service to the MSU community has always been ContactIPF’s top priority. By incorporating new technology, customers can now contact IPF service center specialists by phone, text message, email and web chat.

Formerly known as IPF Dispatch, ContactIPF quickly addresses requests for immediate help for things like flooded rooms, damaged windows, busted air conditioners and icy sidewalks, to name a few. The team also provides general IPF information, on-call services, facilitates IPF emergency procedures and connects customers with IPF staff members for specialized information and services.

The name change comes at a time of transition into the new age of instant communication. Though their services have long been available 24/7/365, contact was limited to telephone calls. Newly integrated software allows for additional communication channels, increases flexibility for customers and helps staff members provide more immediate service. This new technology expands ContactIPF’s reach throughout the university. Technology expansion plans for later this year include communicating through Facebook and Twitter.

Questions not related to IPF such as general MSU inquiries, directions, event information and connections to faculty and staff, can be directed to ContactMSU through the phone, text or web chat at any time. With over 180 years of combined experience, their staff members provide friendly, fast, expert service to make campus communication as effortless as possible.

“The old names – university operator and dispatcher – were limiting. We do much more than just those duties,” said ContactMSU/ContactIPF manager Julie Huston. “We have expanded our service offerings and our new software provides more versatility. We are now a full service contact center rather than just a dispatch or directory service provider.”
