IPF provides red-water reminder to MSU
April 21, 2014
From May to August, MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities will conduct various construction and maintenance activities that may discolor the water supply throughout campus. These activities include: fire-pump testing, fire-hydrant flushing, well- and water-main testing and flushing, water shutdowns to buildings to replace/repair equipment, etc.
While this water discoloration is harmless in terms of sanitation and safety, it is possible that it may discolor clothing when used for laundry. Please check with your facility manager for details.
IPF will post more detailed information about specific activities that are most likely to cause red water at www.ipf.msu.edu/redwater. Please bookmark this page and visit it routinely if you are interested in times where heightened alert may be necessary.
Your cooperation during these activities is appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Infrastructure Planning and Facilities at (517) 353-1760 or email@example.com.
