The Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association recognized Michigan State University’s Wellhead Protection team for its efforts to ensure drinking water safety and quality on campus.

“It’s an acknowledgement of our continued exemplary service that we supply to the university and of our water customers on campus,” said Mike Tracy, water utilities engineer with IPF.

Tracy, who also serves as a MSU WHP Committee member, accepted the 2015 Exemplary Wellhead Protection Program award for a medium-sized system on behalf of the committee at the section’s Annual Awards Lunch Sept. 16 in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

“I think the diversity of the representation of different campus entities as well as the engagement of the committee members makes us stand out,” said Ruth Kline-Robach, MSU water resources specialist.  “It’s truly a team effort.”
