A year in review

December 21, 2016

As 2016 comes to a close, it’s important to take time to reflect on everything we have accomplished in the last year. IPF works because there are so many hardworking individuals focused on doing their very best to make a difference for those who live, work and visit MSU. While each individual deserves the utmost appreciation, our true strength comes from working with each other. IPF is made up of a broad group of employees. Every single person brings something different to IPF, and it is this diverse thinking that inspires creative solutions and a willingness to move forward.

The holidays are a time for unity and gratitude. As you enjoy the celebrations with your family and friends, remember all you’ve contributed to IPF this year, and the people you’ve worked with to make those contributions possible.

The IPF team has brought a long list of successes to 2016. Our focus on stewardship, innovation, our customers and employees has begun to provide dividends not only in how we are perceived, but in the important work that we do. If you haven’t done so already, I would encourage you to take a look at our Facilities and Infrastructure Report, which was recently shared with our Board of Trustees. The report is a reminder of all the great things that IPF has accomplished over the past year.

All of this success has been achieved by your relentless efforts to work together and your dedication to creating a community we can all proudly be part of. Everything from large-scale construction projects such as the Breslin Center renovation and 1855 Place, to everyday facilities maintenance and upkeep, to providing cost effective, reliable utilities – every single thing our IPF team does has an impact on the university.

The holiday season will soon end as quickly as this year’s winter snow fell upon us. Regardless of how you spend your holidays, I hope you can take a moment’s break to find time for yourself and your loved ones. Know that the hard work you do for this campus community is recognized and appreciated. Without you, MSU would not operate. I value each individual at IPF and you deserve to enjoy and relax during these next weeks.

As a part of your team, I want to thank you for your unyielding effort, your innovative ideas and every day that you show up, ready to do your best work.

I hope you enjoy your holiday season, and I can’t wait to see what we can bring to 2017.

Until next time,

P.S. As always, please send me your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, etc. at
