Installation and maintenance of horticultural material including annual and perennial plants, turf, flowers, shrub beds, natural areas and recreational areas;  mulching, fertilization, pruning; controlling invasive plant species; care of campus rain gardens and live roofs; stewardship and maintenance of campus wetlands and waterways; monitoring and control of insects, pests and diseases that harm horticultural materials.

Maintaining drip lines (drip irrigation), spray heads and piping systems; monitoring a computerized central control system; monitoring/maintaining the weather station; and maintaining campus fountains and ornamental pools.

Litter and debris control

Removing litter, debris and other unwanted substances from outdoor areas; Maintaining trash receptacles

Outdoor amenities

Maintenance of outdoor furniture (benches and picnic tables), ornamental exterior fencing, ash urns, bike racks; removal of unauthorized signs, banners and advertising.


Maintenance and protection of trees on campus through pruning, cultural practices and fertilization; hazardous tree identification and removals.
