Surplus and resale

The MSU Surplus Store collects used items from the MSU community and makes them available for resale at low prices. The store has more than 15,000 square feet of floor space with a variety of materials from antiques and athletic wear to vehicles and trailers. You can also shop any time at, where over 20,000 unique items are offered.

When you no longer need your file cabinets, desks, electronics, lab equipment or nearly any other item, don’t pitch them. Either drop them off at the Surplus Store during normal business hours or have MSU Surplus come pick them up for you by submitting a service request. Depending on the item being donated, it might generate a little revenue for campus departments.

Public sale hours are Tuesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The store has public viewing hours from noon to 3:30 every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Departments can purchase from the Surplus Store during normal business hours (both public viewing and public sale) while others can buy during public sale hours.
