To perform cleaning and housekeeping activities of an assigned area in an event, classroom, research and or office building(s). Duties include: Work various hours including evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays. Perform such cleaning duties as sweeping, dust-mopping and vacuuming of hard surface and carpeted floors utilizing appropriate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops and brooms. Clean and disinfect restrooms, including showers, toilets, urinals, sinks, towel dispensers and mirrors. Dust and wash windows, mirrors, interior glass, window casings and tracks, Venetian blinds and ledges. Clean and shampoo upholstery. Spot-wash walls to remove such items as splash marks around sinks and fingerprints from light switches. Clean and polish sinks, shower heads and drinking fountains. Empty waste containers. Clean chalk boards and erasers. Collect and sort recycling materials within the building. Stock restrooms and classrooms.
Casual knowledge of cleaning methods, techniques and equipment. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, occasional lifting of 50 pounds
May require a valid operator, chauffeur or commercial drivers license(s) with applicable endorsements and medical certificate in order to comply with the State of Michigan requirements.
