Ken McFarlane joins IPF as director of design and construction

This April, Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF) welcomed Ken McFarlane to his new role as the director of Design and Construction.
McFarlane holds a Master of Public Administration degree and a BS in Civil Engineering, as well as professional engineer licensure in Michigan and Nevada. McFarlane brings over 25 years of experience including 10 years with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) in key leadership roles.

In his role at MDARD, McFarlane was tasked with implementing laws and policies that impact the safety of Michigan residents including over 90 programs throughout the state. McFarlane and his team promoted and regulated the very important food and agriculture sector of Michigan through strategy and policy development, regulatory compliance, facility management, risk mitigation, economic development, stakeholder relations, budget development and execution, and employee development.
Before coming to MDARD, McFarlane spent 15 years in the design and construction industry, leading teams of engineers to provide consulting services for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of major land development projects including The Cosmopolitan Resort, The Residences at the MGM Grand, Red Rock Resort, multiple Clark County School District Facilities, and many more.
As the director of Design and Construction at IPF, McFarlane will provide leadership and strategic vision to approximately 55 support and professional staff, with oversight of approximately $200 million in annual capital projects.
