Planon

What is Planon?

Planon is a cloud-based Enterprise Maintenance Management System (EMMS) that will transition multiple units at MSU to a new integrated workplace management system (IWMS). The Planon system was selected to replace FAMIS and MySoft, and is anticipated to accomplish the following goals:

  • Standardize processes
  • Reduce redundancy
  • Increase transparency, consistency and reporting
  • Enhance the customer experience

This system will help the university better serve its customers in areas such as properties, assets, space management, inventory and purchasing, planned maintenance, vehicle leases, events, and more.

MSU Units Involved

  • Controller's Office Financial Analysis (FA)
  • Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF)
  • Institutional Space Planning Management (ISPM)
  • MSU Information Technology (IT)
  • Student Life and Engagement (SLE)
  • University Procurement and Logistics (UPL)

Planning and preparation for this project began in 2018 and full implementation is anticipated by January of 2024.
