Campus Infrastructure Overview

Campus infrastructure by the numbers

Infrastructure Planning and Facilities maintains MSU's physical environment, one of the largest for a U.S. university, in support of more than 50,000 students and 13,000 faculty and staff. MSU's campus has more than 560 buildings comprising almost 24.5 million square feet.

From the electrical grid, steam tunnels and water mains under campus, and the roadways, plantings and clean classrooms you see every day, to the HVAC systems on top of campus' tallest buildings, IPF keeps MSU running.

2019 Property Holdings

MSU's Land Management Office manages a number of university and MSU Foundation properties and facilities. The office's 2019 Property Holdings Report may be viewed online.
