Kevin Dylong: The man behind the landscaping

If you’ve ever strolled across MSU’s campus and paused to admire a perfectly edged lawn, a vibrant flower bed or the peaceful elegance of West Circle’s tree-lined paths—you’ve likely seen the quiet handiwork of Kevin Dylong.

As a gardener in MSU’s Landscape Services division, Dylong is responsible for maintaining one of the most iconic stretches of campus. “My individual gardening area is 53 acres in size,” he said, “including 15 buildings like the library, the union, Beaumont Tower, Cowles House, the music building, and the West Circle dorms.” From pruning and mowing to invasive plant removal and leaf cleanup, his work helps shape the green heart of MSU.
