Sparty is getting ready for commencement

Sparty is getting spring green for commencement. Each year our Landscape Services crews take special care to get campus ready, knowing that so many people will be making lifelong memories and taking photos during this time. 

 

The grounds near Sparty have a turf blanket on them which is intended to help the grass grow sooner, stronger, and greener than might be the case based on our weather in Michigan. Sparty got this same special treatment last year with success. 

 

Turf blankets are a simple and easy tool to warm the soil and turf grass canopy while minimizing heat loss at night. The permeable covers not only allow in some moisture and air and can help promote spring green up, they also can help accelerate recovery from winter.
