April 1, 2025

Jordan Wing, a student employee with IPF’s Planning, Design and Construction team, takes great pride in assisting with the coordination and execution of construction and renovation projects across campus, creating spaces that enhance the MSU campus experience. “I’ve really enjoyed the process of working with clients across campus and being able to deliver a new or refreshed space to them. It’s been incredibly satisfying to sit down, listen to the needs of each group, and work through the planning and construction process,” he shared.
For Jordan, his work goes beyond completing projects; it’s about creating lasting impacts for the people who use these spaces daily. “The best part of the job is witnessing the joy from the client once the project is finished. While we may not be creating revolutionary designs worthy of magazine covers, we’re enhancing lives here on campus,” he said, expressing the fulfillment he derives from his role.
Jordan values the hands-on experience IPF offers, which he finds unique compared to traditional classroom learning. “I’ve been able to learn so much that we would never have been able to touch in class. For me, particularly, learning how to work with and communicate with clients has been invaluable,” he noted. Under the mentorship of , Christine Lockwood, Jordan has honed his skills in project planning and documentation, preparing him well for his future career.
As a student, Jordan appreciates the flexibility IPF provides, which allows him to balance his academics, work, and personal life. “Having a little flexibility has been invaluable to maintaining a healthy balance. And with IPF being on campus, it’s very easy to commute between my apartment, work, and class,” he added.Jordan’s experience at IPF is a testament to the rewarding opportunities it offers student employees, providing them with practical skills, mentorship, and the chance to positively impact the MSU community.
