Outdoor Tennis Courts and Support Building

Rendering of the front of new Spartan Tennis building

Overview of scope:

This project will address the pressing need for modernized and safer facilities for the university's tennis program by rebuilding the deteriorating outdoor courts and improving spectator viewing areas. In addition, a new dedicated building will be constructed to provide essential amenities, including restrooms, locker rooms, and team spaces. This facility will be strategically located to create synergies with the Clara Bell Smith Academic Center for student athletes, enhancing support for their academic and athletic development. The upgrades will ensure that the tennis program meets Big Ten standards, providing the athletes and staff with a high‐quality environment that fosters success both on the court and in the classroom.

The MSU Board of Trustees authorized starting construction for this project (PDF) in February 2025.
