Transportation Services Garage
Overview of Scope
The Spartan Stadium Modernization project required demolition of the Central Services building, displacing the transportation Services motor pool business functions. The Spartan Stadium Modernization project requires relocation of the motor pool service garage that is currently housed in Spartan Stadium east concourse. Constructing a new building for the Transportation Services garage will improve vehicle repair capabilities which are currently limited due to ceiling heights and building constraints of the Spartan Stadium east concourse.
The Vision 2050: Integrated Facilities and Land Use Plan serves as the guiding framework for enhancements across campus, including the Athletic District. As part of the Spartan Stadium Improvements project, the Central Services building was demolished in the summer of 2025. Transportation Services offices previously located there were moved to Service District, specifically to the University Services building on Service Road.
The creation of a new Transportation Services building will clear the way for the Spartan Stadium Modernization project by relocating a service function out of the Athletic District to the Service District.
The Service District already houses complimentary functions such as fuel station, car wash, motor pool, and parking for Transportation Services users, making it a strategic location for centralizing services that support the MSU community.
