Wilson Road traffic shifting starting April 6

Wilson Road between Red Cedar Road and Farm Lane Road

Road work

What is being done?

Wilson Road between Red Cedar Road and Farm Lane Road the traffic will be shifted to one side of the divided roadway. This will allow for installation of infrastructure lines for chilled water to be run from where the lines were left off last summer near the entrance to Lot 49 to Farm Lane Road.

This work is part of the Farm Lane Road utility reconstruction project which connects utility service down Wilson Road to the recently updated section at the Farm Lane bridge. When completed this work will increase reliability of the utility corridor in this area.

See map for details. Pedestrian pathways open on the north and south sides of Wilson Road. Vehicle traffic will shift to the north lanes of the divided highway. There will be two-way traffic with one lane going each way during this time.

How will this impact building occupants?

This work will start around April 6 and last through May 4 when at that time the traffic control arrangement will be modified again for this area.

  • Wilson Road between Red Cedar Road and Farm Lane Road will have the south lanes closed
  • Traffic will shift to the north lanes of Wilson Road which will have two-lanes of traffic open, one in each direction.
  • Median cut-throughs to Parking Lot 43 and Parking Lot 49 will remain open
  • Pedestrian detours will be established for crosswalks crossing Wilson Road within the work area.
  • Barrier-free parking loop at the north side of the Natural Resources building will be temporarily closed until approximately mid-June.

Please obey all construction barriers, mind all flagmen and patrol officers, and follow posted detours. Your cooperation and patience during this time is appreciated.
