Hidden Lake Gardeners Association
The Hidden Lake Gardeners Association is an independent club associated with Hidden Lake Gardens. We started as the Master Gardener Association of Lenawee County in 19___. In 2015, membership was extended beyond Master Gardeners to all persons interested in gardening. The name changed to the Hidden Lake Gardeners Association, however, the goal remained to “strive to increase the horticultural knowledge of its members and share it with our community.”
Anyone interested in horticulture is welcome to join the Association for fun-filled education events and volunteer opportunities. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Visitors Center unless we have scheduled a field trip, check our 2024 Schedule for details. Come check us out!
Contact us by sending an email to hlg@msu.edu, Attention: Hidden Lake Gardeners Association, or by calling the HLG office at (517) 431-2060. We will be happy to add you to our email list for notifications.
Annual membership dues are $10, payable beginning in January.

The Hidden Lake Gardeners Association agenda is set each year in January.
Activities include:
- Guest speakers on any topic of interest.
- Field trips to greenhouses, farms and gardens.
- Crafts using natural materials to benefit the environment.
- Volunteering at Hidden Lake Gardens or elsewhere.
- Sneak previews of HLG projects.
- Annual holiday party.
Our activities in 2023 included sponsoring exciting presentations, open to the public, featuring giant pumpkin cultivation, controlled burns benefits, pollinators, owls and the RRWC (River Raisin Watershed Council). We made a trip to the Peony Garden in Ann Arbor, decorated a Christmas tree with bird-edible ornaments in the Adrian Comstock Park, volunteered weeding flower beds at HLG and assisted with the plant sales. Our schedule is limited only by our imagination!
