Summer Stroll

Enjoy a peaceful stroll through the gardens along with live music and creative activities. Learn more about the resources available for caregivers and individuals living with dementia.

In partnership with the Lenawee County Department on Aging, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Dementia Friendly Services, Hidden Lake Gardens will also be hosting programming focused on dementia awareness and caregiver support. These events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. Register below or contact our office at 517-431-2060 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Registration is not necessary for visitors only attending the stroll. 

Caregiver Presentations - 1:30 & 2:30 PM

1:30 PM - Presentation by Jim Mangi, based upon material from the Alzheimer's Association and his own 17 year caregiving journey, to provide an understanding of how communication abilities of persons with dementia change during the many years of their journey, and how caregivers, friends, families, neighbors and everyone else can maintain effective connection with persons with dementia even until the very end.  Jim is a long-time Alzheimer's Association volunteer, and leader of a nonprofit--Dementia Friendly Services--focused on dementia awareness, and support for persons dealing with dementia.

2:30 PM - Presentation to be announced. 

Additional information regarding resources for caregivers and reducing caregiver stress will be provided.
