A crane will be used to remove and replace an air conditioning chiller from the roof. This includes both the building and the roadway on the North side of the building, as shown below.
Why is this being done?
This is part of replacing the existing chiller for the Broad Art Museum, which has reached the end of its useful life.
How will this impact building occupants?
During the crane lift, the areas highlighted on the images below must be evacuated. This area includes:
Basement - 14, 14C, 14D, 14E, 14F
First Floor - 146A, 148, 149
Second Floor - 236, 236A, 236B, 236C, 236D
Third Floor - 332, 333, 334 and 335
Additionally, East Circle Drive, from Farm Lane Road to Parking Lot 8 will be closed to traffic during this time.
