Marchan D. Darby
Director of Real Estate Operations
Marchan Darby accepted the position of Director of Real Estate Operations for MSU in November 2022. Prior to accepting the position at MSU Marchan served in several capacities for the State of Michigan including property analyst, leasing manager and division director for the Department of Technology, Management & Budget’s Real Estate Division. Marchan has been a licensed realtor in the state of Michigan since 2001.
Marchan was born and raised in Detroit and is a graduate of Cass Technical High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northwood University and a master’s degree in management from Walsh College. Now residing in West Bloomfield, Marchan enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, traveling with family and friends and singing.
Rhonda Riley
Real Estate Asset Administrator
Rhonda started at MSU's Land Management Office in 2015 and came to IPF in 2022.
Rhonda is responsible for the work related to the MSU real estate portfolio and is the primary point of contact for real property donations/acquisitions and sales to the university. She works with public and private partners to negotiate terms of new and existing leases and agreements on behalf of the university. Rhonda is certified by the State of Michigan as a Michigan Advanced Assessment Officer and holds a Michigan Certified Personal Property Examiner license. Rhonda has decades of experience inspecting, researching and appraising real and personal property. She has worked with several Michigan municipalities as a property tax assessor including Lansing and East Lansing. Rhonda also has direct oversight of the Demmer Shooting Sports and Education Center.
Rhonda is a member of the Association of Real Estate University Officers, Michigan Assessors Association, MSU Infrastructure Safety and Security Committee, MSU Youth Programs Community of Learning and is on the Planon Lease and Property task force.
Rhonda is happily married with three successful adult children. She is obsessed with proper nutrition and loves to read, travel, hike and go to music festivals with her husband John and their dog Dug.
Adam Cooley
Real Estate Asset Administrator
Adam Cooley carries a variety of responsibilities in the Real Estate Operations office including contract management, facility management and fiscal management. He has been with the unit (formerly known as the Land Management Office) for over five years and has been employed with MSU full time since 2012.
Cooley holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and economics from Michigan State University. His Juris Doctor is from the MSU College of Law. He has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 2011.
