Get to Know: Kelsey Oosterhoff

Kelsey Oosterhoff loves to travel and even bungee jump whenever she gets the opportunity. 

Oosterhoff, who has worked at MSU for six years with the last two at IPF as a facilities stewardship coordinator, also loves to help create the best outcomes for the university. 

“I get to be involved in decisions regarding where to reinvest in our campus facilities and infrastructure, which ultimately impacts learning, teaching and research,” Oosterhoff said. “I get very excited about the improvements we are making related to processes and technology that will enable us to make better decisions.” 

Oosterhoff works on initiatives such as the IPF Mobile Action Plan and oversees the Capital Renewal Program, collaborating with stakeholders to assess, prioritize and plan for major repair and replacement needs of campus building systems, equipment and infrastructure. 

“My role as facilities stewardship coordinator allows me to collaborate with employees all across IPF,” she said. “It’s a rewarding process to work toward a common goal with others.” 

Typically, fall and winter are the busiest times as she works to finalize and present annual capital renewal requests to executive leadership. 

“I also love process improvement and data analysis,” Oosterhoff said, adding that she encourages other IPF employees to be open to new ideas and ask questions. 

Outside of work, Oosterhoff enjoys traveling and has taken her one-year-old son as far as Denver and San Diego. She enjoys hiking, running, home improvement projects and reading. Recently, she and her husband took a memorable camping trip, visiting three national parks — Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon. 

“The hikes and views of the Milky Way were unforgettable,” she said.
