Landscape Services plants hope for the holidays

The giving spirit was in full swing at IPF’s Landscape Services this year, with over $1,000 raised in a single week to support a local family in need.

The amount far surpassed any expectations by Matt Bailey, Landscape Services manager, who organized the Adopt A Family partnership through Volunteers of America. Michigan’s program has been active in the community since 1993 and provides children, seniors and veterans with food, toys, clothing and something even more valuable, hope, during the holiday season.

“With all of the donations, we were able to purchase more than eight toys for each child along with winter clothes and school supplies,” said Bailey, who was cheered by the level of giving this year. “We were also able to purchase a large amount of cleaning supplies and clothes for the parents.”  

Landscape Services’ employees gathered during lunch just before the holidays to wrap presents for the family of six. Besides gifts, they also delivered enough groceries for a huge holiday meal and more besides.

“Today we dropped off all of the gifts, and the family was very appreciative,” said Bailey. “I’m not joking, the presents and food almost filled the room right up!”

“I feel very proud to work with such a great group of people that can rally together for a family in need,” Bailey continued. “I wish you and your families a very HAPPY HOLIDAYS!”
