Landscape Services manager Matt Bailey led his team in a day of volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing with funds that were raised by IPF staff during the last holiday season. Improvements included:

  • Installation of five picnic tables built by our campus arborists using wood from campus. With these tables we were able to create a new lunch spot as well as an outdoor classroom.
  • Updates to the building landscape by pruning, mulching, and edging.
  • Removal of three dead white pines as well as pruning of other existing trees that had many safety hazards.
  • Installation of a new soccer field, goals provided courtesy of Ross Winter from MSU IM Sports.
    • A bag of Spartan soccer balls was provided courtesy of Coach Damon Rensing from MSU Soccer.
  • Line striping the parking areas and crosswalks around the facility.
  • Straightening and replacing safety signage around the building.
  • Installation of new benches and a trash receptacle at the main entrance.
  • Installation of a new kickball field.
  • Installation of a new carpetball table for the kid’s game room courtesy of IPF Building Services' Ryan Eckland, Nick Kramer and Mark Lutkenhoff.

"I want to thank all of our staff at Landscape Services as well as our partners at IPF, MSU Athletics, and IM Sports," said Bailey. "This campaign and the work our staff put in will benefit over 200 kids daily!"
