If you haven’t been to MSU’s campus for a while, welcome back! IPF has been working on a number of projects while you were away. Here are a few of them.

MSU WATER FILTRATION PLANT PLACED ONLINE

Construction of a $21 million water treatment plant began in 2018 and was officially placed online in August 2020. The treatment plant will remove naturally occurring minerals from groundwater that often affect aesthetic quality before being sent to most north campus buildings. Read more

STEM TEACHING AND LEARNING FACILITY COMPLETED

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) facility will house undergraduate teaching laboratories; project laboratories; and breakout space that will support gateway courses for biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, physics and engineering in a central campus location. FIRST OUTDOOR GREEN WALL INSTALLED ON MSU'S CAMPUS

A team of students from the student organization Sustainable Spartans spearheaded the effort to create two green walls on the Library Bridge, which is located between Spartan Football Stadium and the Library. Read more

GRANT WELCOMES BEES AND BUTTERFLIES TO CAMPUS

The fight against invasive species is a constant one, and MSU is making a concerted effort to tackle it on campus. In collaboration with the College of Natural Science’s Plant Biology Department and the student Fisheries and Wildlife Club, IPF Landscape Services is helping reclaim an area of campus just off Trowbridge Road. EPPLEY CENTER FACILITIES UPDATED

Renovations to the Eppley Center include safety and energy efficiency improvements such as LED light fixtures, fire alarm and suppression systems and heating and cooling systems, as well as creating curricular spaces on the first floor for student clubs and organizations, two computer labs, a Broad Tutorial Center on the second floor and renovations for the Department of Finance on the third floor. BILLMAN MUSIC PAVILION COMPLETED

The new space adds 37,000 square feet to the existing Music Building, renovating another 8,5000 square feet in MSU music facilities. Check it out

TECHSMITH HEADQUARTERS CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY NEAR SPARTAN VILLAGE

MSU and the Michigan State University Foundation are partnering to develop a 62,500 square-foot, two-story office building in the south portion of Spartan Village for the new TechSmith headquarters. Check it out

TRANSPARENT SOLAR GLASS INSTALLATION

100 square feet of transparent solar glass was installed by IPF skilled tradespeople above the Biomedical and Physical Sciences building’s entryway. The glass will generate enough electricity to power lighting in its atrium. Read more
