The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU is one of the most unique and imaginative spaces on campus serving not just MSU students, faculty, and staff, but the greater Lansing community as well.

MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities has been honored - over the years - to assist in the production of various exhibits, including hanging an elephant from the museum's ceiling and wading through the red cedar to install photo installations.

In 2017, IPF was contacted to assist in the production of the Transported Man exhibition - a project still discussed within IPF ranks. A significant level of specialty work and expertise was required for the exhibit, including:

  • Electrical wiring and installation
  • Roof covering over skylight
  • Removal of large glass doors and installation of threshold
  • Hanging enormous window shade to create a square, white backdrop behind the elephant
  • Assembly, lift and positioning of the elephant
  • New camera placement and fire exit signage

The partnership with MSU Broad is an example of how IPF supports the campus community in welcoming creation, innovation, and imagination to MSU through the arts.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU is thankful for all the assistance IPF staff has provided over the past 7 years. So many of our projects would not be possible without the skilled men and women helping plan and install some complex and challenging works.
