Overview of Scope

This project is anticipated to repurpose the existing imaging suite in the Clinical Center to accommodate large animal imaging. The project will use existing infrastructure where possible, and update building systems, particularly ventilation, to accommodate new MRI and PET Scan equipment. New animal holding rooms will be constructed and existing equipment will be removed and replaced. 

Goals include developing a shared research facility supporting growth in biomedical research using state-of-the-art imaging equipment, fostering scientific collaboration among investigators, and providing opportunities for industry engagement.

Phase

  • Construction
  • June 2024: the project has completed demolition. The generator pad has been completed; new underground piping is being installed; studs and drywall commencing.

  • Substantial completion: expected November 2024
