IPF departments moving locations: Transportation Services and the Sign Shop

This summer two Infrastructure and Planning Facilities (IPF) departments are moving to new locations in order to better serve the campus community.  

Transportation Services

March 9, 2026 Transportation Services will be moving from the University Services Building (169 Service Road) to another temporarily location at 325 W Shaw Lane. This location is needed while a new location is built to house Transportation Services and The Service Garage to open in 2028.

Reason for the move:

• The Central Services building has reached end of useful life and will be razed to provide space for renovations to the Spartan Stadium. 
• The Service Garage will remain in the Stadium until an alternate location can be found.  

Services:

• Motor Pool
• Fleet management
• Shared Vehicle program
• MSU Campus Bus

Sign Shop

July 1, 2025 the Sign Shop will be set up in their new location at the IPF Building (1147 Chestnut Road) near the Key Shop. Parking is available in Lot 59.

Reason to move:  
This move will give the Sign Shop a little more space, bring them closer to other IPF staff who they collaborate with, and centralize the location for campus customers who use the Key or Sign Shop.

Services:

• The Sign Shop offers a wide array of interior sign services from nameplates and nametags to wayfinding, office signage, vinyl graphics and more.  
• Exterior sign requests are handled through Landscape Services or as part of a new construction project.
