What is being done?

Abatement and demo of asbestos-containing materials in Berkey Hall – Rms. 114, 115, 117, 118, 119A, 119B and 120. During this project, walls, flooring, and ceilings in these rooms will be abated and demo’d in preparation for the Berkey Hall – First Floor Renovations – Phase 2 project that is scheduled to commence summer 2024. Existing corridor walls and doors into these rooms from the corridor shall remain. These doors shall be locked and there shall be glass along the corridor covered to restrict work area viewing.

How will this impact building occupants?

There will be intermittent construction noise in the vicinity of the affected spaces. Dumpsters shall be placed in the turnaround area of parking lot 3. The route from the work areas inside Berkey Hall to and from the dumpsters shall be through the receiving area next to the elevator. Asbestos work areas are strictly off limits to persons who are not trained or directly involved with the project. Please respect all warning signs and danger tape.
