Engineering Building

Fire suppression system shutdown

What is being done?

Replacement of fire suppression mains throughout the building because they are at the end of their life expectancy and need to be replaced to eliminate potential for leaking and failures. The work will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How will this impact building occupants?

During this shutdown, fire suppression will not be active to the building, work will be taking place in the basement tunnel areas, stairwells, corridors, and limited rooms. Egress will always be maintained and available for building occupant safety. Removal of piping requires tools that will be noisy at times.
