Generator testing

Why is this being done?

Testing of the life-safety generators, as a monthly requirement of the National Fire Protection Agency.

How will this impact building occupants?

Power will be interrupted to all equipment on the life-safety generator (stairwell lighting, exit lights, fire alarm systems, phone systems, etc.). This shutdown will not affect normal building power.

Each generator will be tested ONCE monthly. Testing will take place Monday through Friday, from 6:15 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. (unless otherwise indicated). Crews will begin Monday, April 7, and conclude on Thursday, March 24.

Specific building dates and times can be found here: https://ipf.msu.edu/monthly-generator-test-schedule.
