Utility work

What is being done?

Temporary shutdown of electrical service to install a new 120/208 Volt substation, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., daily, Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, October 12, and lasting through Tuesday, October 20.

Why is this being done?

The substation is past its life expectancy.

How will this impact building occupants?

Various parts of the building will be affected at different times. The affected areas will have disruptions of 120/208 voltage – affecting lights, elevator lights, fire alarm systems, and anything plugged into 120/208 receptacles, like computers and lab equipment.

Special precautions that need to be taken: It is recommended that facility occupants power down computers and sensitive laboratory equipment. Laboratory hood sashes should be lowered to prevent low air flow alarms and environmental rooms may alarm.
