Temporary lane and intersection closure on Farm Lane for bridge beam transport

Farm Lane from Mt. Hope Avenue to Shaw Lane.

Road closure

What is being done?
  • Temporary closure of the most northbound lane of Farm Lane for bridge beam staging from Tuesday, April 16 to Wednesday, April 17.
  • Intermittent closure of the intersection of Farm Lane and Wilson Rd. for bridge beam maneuvering from April 16-17.
  • Temporary closure and detouring of sidewalk/river trail crossing at Farm Lane just south of the Red Cedar River for bridge beam offloading and placement on April 17.

How will this impact building occupants?
  • The closure and staging of tractor trailers hauling bridge beams in the most easterly lane of northbound Farm Lane between N. Shaw Lane and Mt. Hope Ave (including bike lane) will occur on Tuesday, April 16, and continue into Wednesday, April 17. This may cause travel delays for cyclists, motorists, and busses (CATA). One vehicle lane in the northbound direction will always remain open and CATA bus stops will always remain clear of tractor trailers and accessible.
  • Intermittent closures of the intersection of Wilson Rd. and Farm Lane will occur, both April 16 and 17, to allow tractor trailers hauling bridge beams to maneuver into place to back into the job site.
  • The temporary sidewalk/river trail crossing just south of the Red Cedar River will be closed and detoured on Wednesday, April 17, to allow for bridge beam placement with a crane, which may cause travel delays for pedestrians and cyclists.

Please obey all construction barriers, mind all flagmen and patrol officers, and follow posted detours. Special efforts will be made to avoid the movement of the tractor trailers hauling bridge beams during class changes. Your cooperation and patience during this time is appreciated.
