New fleet additions support sustainability on campus

Three Chevy Bolts have joined MSU’s 1,500 vehicle fleet. The all-electric Bolts are zero-emission, have a range of 230 miles, are highway legal and are available to faculty and staff for daily rentals.

Engaging academics in classroom redesign

The MSU Classroom Committee is a dedicated team comprised of individuals from IPF, Facilities Planning and Space Management, IT Services and the Registrar’s Office. Working in collaboration with faculty, they create high-impact educational environments that engage students in active learning, and provide opportunities for research, leadership in instructional methods and innovation through technology-rich environments.

Women in Skilled Trades

Carol Cool and Tori Menold are the founders of WIST. Their goal was to use their industry knowledge to help women succeed in a hands-on field. The program started in fall 2016 as an apprenticeship readiness program.

Coongratulations to Diane Schimizzi for being the Summer Employee of the Quarter

Diane Schimizzi has been working in the same department for 35 years, including two years as an engineering aide while she was getting her mechanical engineering degree from MSU. Once she got her degree in 1985, she was the first woman engineer that had been hired by the university.

Demonstration Hall renovations foster inclusion

Demonstration Hall construction has wrapped up, creating a new multi-use court floor to promote MSU’s goals of inclusivity, recreation sports and fitness as a part of the Healthy Campus Initiative.
